Terence J. Sweeney, Esq.

Areas of focus

As a sole practitioner, I focus on significant personal injury, and complex individual and class action litigation involving pharmaceutical injury, medical/nursing/legal negligence, nursing home negligence, product liability, and aviation litigation before the State and Federal Courts of New York and New Jersey.

Education and qualifications

I attended undergraduate school at Boston College and obtained my law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. While at Seton Hall, I was an Associate Editor of the Law Review. Presently, I am admitted before the State and Federal District Courts of New York and New Jersey, the Third Circuit and Second Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Experience

Before opening my own practice, I was an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County, New York, and an Assistant Prosecutor in Essex County, New Jersey. While there, I filed and argued appeals before the various appellate courts, and tried many cases to verdict. Upon leaving public service, I practiced at a major plaintiff’s firm in New York City, specializing in complex medical negligence, mass toxic tort, product liability, significant personal injury, and aviation matters.
